Signature Lor Mee @ Ah Choon Traditional Lor Mee Prawn Noodle Laksa

Looking for what to eat at Woodlands? Head to Kampung Admiralty for Ah Choon's lor mee. YumzYumz had their signature lor mee, and this is what our food review of their famous traditional lor mee.

Ah Choon's signature lor mee consist of a ton of ingredients packed into a bowl of gooey fragrant gravy, drowning the well blanched noodles.

There was this large chunk of fried fish which was flaky on the inside and slight crisp on the exterior. Soaked in the aromatic gravy, the deep fried fish and chunky bits of fried batter adds depth of texture to every bite.

Next was the halved prawns, deveined and tasted fresh, and the halved braised eggs were soft and savoury. We got a chunky chewy ngoh hiang which was definitely a delightful addition. And finally, a generous amount of braised fatty pork strips. To end it all off, we added a spoonful of minced garlic and a splash of black vinegar to give this wonderful bowl of goodness an extra kick.

At $4 a bowl, be prepared to stand in queue for at least 15minutes during lunch time as Ah Choon's dishes are hot favourites at Kampung Admiralty, and definitely worth queuing up for.

Hunan Pork Belly at Xiang Xiang Hunan: Crunchy, Spicy, and Lip-Smacking Good

You know a dish is that good when you keep coming back for it. And that’s exactly what happened on our third visit to Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine 湘香湖南菜 —this time at AMK Hub. We already had high expectations from our past experiences, but once again, their Hunan pork belly blew us away. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) What Makes This Hunan Pork Belly Stand Out? First off, let’s talk about the star of the show: their Hunan stir fry pork , made with a heavenly combo of Iberico pork belly and lean pork. It’s a dish that really brings out the spirit of Hunan cooking—bold, fragrant, slightly spicy, and loaded with green pepper aromatics. The pork belly is wonderfully fatty and tender, with that unmistakable richness that Iberico pork is known for. The lean pork adds a nice balance so it doesn’t get overly unctuous. And then there's the rabbit ear fungus. Yes, rabbit ear fungus—also known as Mu Er or Yunnan black fungus . It...
