Ah Gong Signature Noodles @ Ah Gong Teochew Noodle

What to eat at Whampoa market? Bright and simple signage, Ah Gong Teochew Noodle churns out a unique and fulfilling bowl of noodles. Let's dive in further.

Paired with their unique utensils and bowl, was their neatly plated bowl of yummilicious noodles.

With perfectly matched garnishes of spring onions and crispyfried onions, Ah Gong's teochew noodles has one of the most amazing minced pork on the side.

Minced pork were gooey yet held a light chunky texture to each bite. It had a mild peppery taste, but enough to whet your appetite for the array of other ingredients. This was by far the best among the whole dish.

Fishballs were presumably handmade, came in a pair, small in size yet packs a punch in terms of texture and taste, which wasn't overly salty.

A single deep fried meatball, similarly small, but it was dense and full of flavour. Next was a thick and "meaty" fried fish cake to add to the wonderful meal.

Noodles were nicely blanched, and mixed into their thick full bodied sauce mix. There was a slight acidic taste and aroma of vinegar, but wasn't overwhelming the other sweetness and taste from the rest of the goody stuff.

For the price of $4 a bowl, Ah Gong Teochew Noodle's signature noodles is definitely one that YumzYumz highly recommends. ^^

Hunan Pork Belly at Xiang Xiang Hunan: Crunchy, Spicy, and Lip-Smacking Good

You know a dish is that good when you keep coming back for it. And that’s exactly what happened on our third visit to Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine 湘香湖南菜 —this time at AMK Hub. We already had high expectations from our past experiences, but once again, their Hunan pork belly blew us away. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) What Makes This Hunan Pork Belly Stand Out? First off, let’s talk about the star of the show: their Hunan stir fry pork , made with a heavenly combo of Iberico pork belly and lean pork. It’s a dish that really brings out the spirit of Hunan cooking—bold, fragrant, slightly spicy, and loaded with green pepper aromatics. The pork belly is wonderfully fatty and tender, with that unmistakable richness that Iberico pork is known for. The lean pork adds a nice balance so it doesn’t get overly unctuous. And then there's the rabbit ear fungus. Yes, rabbit ear fungus—also known as Mu Er or Yunnan black fungus . It...
