Roasted Chicken Rice @ 3 Hainan Chicken Rice

Besides Seng Heng chicken rice at Bukit Timah hawker, there is also 3 Hainan Chicken Rice. We find out how their chicken rice is in this food review.

First impression was great, greeted by the friendly uncles even though they were busy prepping. Plating was simple and straightforward. As usual, we got breast meat to gauge the usual chicken rice test. Surprisingly, even though it looked dried out and tough on the visual test, the flesh was marvelously tenderlicious and subtly savoury, with scraps of roasted skin left on. Perhaps it could do better with slightly more skin on. Looks so naked and bare ^^

Rice had the perfumed fragrance, intricately separated and fluffy, with the right texture providing the yummilicious bite. Coupled harmoniously well with their thick and effusive chili sauce which was full of depth and spicy. Finally on the side was a bowl of hearty, intense yet mellow soup with mushy cabbage.

At $3 a plate of accentuating roasted chicken rice at 3 Hainan Chicken Rice, it was one simple yet satisfying everyday dish that everyone will enjoy. ^^

Hunan Pork Belly at Xiang Xiang Hunan: Crunchy, Spicy, and Lip-Smacking Good

You know a dish is that good when you keep coming back for it. And that’s exactly what happened on our third visit to Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine 湘香湖南菜 —this time at AMK Hub. We already had high expectations from our past experiences, but once again, their Hunan pork belly blew us away. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) What Makes This Hunan Pork Belly Stand Out? First off, let’s talk about the star of the show: their Hunan stir fry pork , made with a heavenly combo of Iberico pork belly and lean pork. It’s a dish that really brings out the spirit of Hunan cooking—bold, fragrant, slightly spicy, and loaded with green pepper aromatics. The pork belly is wonderfully fatty and tender, with that unmistakable richness that Iberico pork is known for. The lean pork adds a nice balance so it doesn’t get overly unctuous. And then there's the rabbit ear fungus. Yes, rabbit ear fungus—also known as Mu Er or Yunnan black fungus . It...

A cozy little restaurant stall tucked in the basement, it promises authentic Korean noodles and hearty comfort food that feels straight out of a Seoul street market. We visited over the weekend for dinner and decided to go big. Two combo sets—Combo A and Combo B—meant we could try six different dishes, including their famous bibim noodles , which definitely deserved the spotlight. At $16.50 ala carte (but included in Combo B), it’s a hearty bowl topped with sliced beef, kimchi, and egg garnish , all nestled over freshly made noodles. What stood out immediately was the chewy, spr...
