水晶芋头笋粄, or crystal taro with bamboo shoots, had a variety of texture and taste all in a single dumpling. Its skin was delectably chewy and stretchy, with subtle sweetness and savoury. Its filling was fully packed with crunchy goodness. Mushrooms, bamboo shoots, turnips cooked to a perfect doneness, while retaining the crunchy yet tender firmness, complimenting the awesomely made taro skin. A final touch of deep fried fragrant shallots on top elevated its intracity and delicacy.
