Tajimaya: Your Go-To Destination for Mouthwatering Yakiniku Charcoal Grill Buffet

Looking for a delicious BBQ grill yakiniku buffet in Singapore? Look no further than Tajimaya at Vivo City. In this food review, we headed down to Tajimaya to try out their charcoal grill and here's what we found.

Firstly, the menu at Tajimaya is extensive, with plenty of options for meat lovers. Australian wagyu short ribs, wagyu oyster blade, wagyu short plates, chuck eye rolls, ox tongue, lamb shoulder, teriyaki chicken, and pork belly are just some of the meat choices available. We especially enjoyed the beautifully marbled short ribs and short plates. Secondly, Tajimaya also offers a variety of seafood options, such as teriyaki salmon, black pepper swordfish, shishamo, half shell scallops, lemon saba fish, huge tiger prawns, and kabayaki unagi. For those who enjoy sashimi, Tajimaya has free-flowing salmon, tuna, and swordfish cubes, which are a great complement to the grilled proteins.

In addition to the meats and seafood, there are also delicious cooked appetizers, including wafu onsen tamago, cod fish bites, crumbed scallops, avocado prawn balls, and cheese croquettes. Tajimaya also offers some Japanese staples such as garlic shoyu fried rice, yaki nori rice, mini bara chirashi don, and aburi salmon mentaiko don, which are all worth trying.

Furthermore, the service at Tajimaya was fantastic. The friendly and helpful staff were quick to refill our charcoal grill whenever it ran low. The dining experience was memorable, with a great atmosphere and plenty of delicious food options.

The prices at Tajimaya are on the higher side, but considering the quality and variety of food on offer, it's definitely justifiable. Lunch prices for adults are $59.90++, while dinner prices are $69.90++. Children aged 5 to 12 years old are charged at $30.90++ for lunch and $35.90++ for dinner.

Overall, Tajimaya offers a wide variety of high-quality choices, excellent service, and a memorable dining experience. If you're craving some Japanese grill, Tajimaya's charcoal grill yakiniku buffet is definitely worth a visit.

Hunan Pork Belly at Xiang Xiang Hunan: Crunchy, Spicy, and Lip-Smacking Good

You know a dish is that good when you keep coming back for it. And that’s exactly what happened on our third visit to Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine 湘香湖南菜 —this time at AMK Hub. We already had high expectations from our past experiences, but once again, their Hunan pork belly blew us away. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) What Makes This Hunan Pork Belly Stand Out? First off, let’s talk about the star of the show: their Hunan stir fry pork , made with a heavenly combo of Iberico pork belly and lean pork. It’s a dish that really brings out the spirit of Hunan cooking—bold, fragrant, slightly spicy, and loaded with green pepper aromatics. The pork belly is wonderfully fatty and tender, with that unmistakable richness that Iberico pork is known for. The lean pork adds a nice balance so it doesn’t get overly unctuous. And then there's the rabbit ear fungus. Yes, rabbit ear fungus—also known as Mu Er or Yunnan black fungus . It...

If you’re wandering through Bishan’s Junction 8 mall wondering what to eat, Seoul Noodle Shop might just catch your eye. A cozy little restaurant stall tucked in the basement, it promises authentic Korean noodles and hearty comfort food that feels straight out of a Seoul street market. We visited over the weekend for dinner and decided to go big. Two combo sets—Combo A and Combo B—meant we could try six different dishes, including their famous bibim noodles , which definitely deserved the spotlight. At $16.50 ala carte (but included in Combo B), it’s a hearty bowl topped with sliced beef, kimchi, and egg garnish , all nestled over freshly made noodles. What stood out immediately was the chewy, spr...
