Spice Up Your Day with Spize Rifle Range’s Delicious Seafood Cappellini

Nestled deep within the quiet neighbourhood in Bukit Timah is a particularly popular Spize joint in Temasek Club. Definitely a place for special occasions with their cozy and beautiful locale and scenary. We got one of their recommended dish, Cappellini ai Fruittti di Mare, or seafood cappellini for this pasta food review.

Cappellini ai Fruittti di Mare, or seafood cappellini, made up with a spectrum of gorgeous ingredients. But first off, the difference between capellini and angel hair is the difference of their width. Capellini's diameter is around 0.85 and 0.92 millimeters, while angel hair measures between 0.78 and 0.88 millimeters. So it was slightly thicker, with more bite than angel hair. Infused with a thick and well seasoned tomato sauce that had the aroma of basil, fresh and tasty seafood were scattered all around it.

Array of Fresh Seafood

Fresh tiger prawns were beautifully grilled, crunchy and savoury flesh. Spanish blue mussels were delectably tasty, along with a couple of Hokkaido scallops that were meaty and nicely seasoned. Added into the mix were huge scoops of tobiko, or fish roe that added the extra dynamism. Extra crunchy texture with the bursting of each roe, adding umami and accentuating each bite. Thick yet soft squid rings were thrown into the mix for the final touch to this already yummilicious dish bursting with the ocean.

At $25.90 a plate of seafood cappellini at Spize Rifle Range, it was definitely a beautifully crafted dish, along with relaxing ambience that had huge windows facing the tranquil forest of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Spize Rifle Range service was excellent, with attentive and swift staff, always willing to attend to us.

Conclusion

With quality, quantity and service in check, Seafood Cappellini at Spize Rifle Range was exquisitely executed and tasted fabulous. Recommended!

Hunan Pork Belly at Xiang Xiang Hunan: Crunchy, Spicy, and Lip-Smacking Good

You know a dish is that good when you keep coming back for it. And that’s exactly what happened on our third visit to Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine 湘香湖南菜 —this time at AMK Hub. We already had high expectations from our past experiences, but once again, their Hunan pork belly blew us away. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) What Makes This Hunan Pork Belly Stand Out? First off, let’s talk about the star of the show: their Hunan stir fry pork , made with a heavenly combo of Iberico pork belly and lean pork. It’s a dish that really brings out the spirit of Hunan cooking—bold, fragrant, slightly spicy, and loaded with green pepper aromatics. The pork belly is wonderfully fatty and tender, with that unmistakable richness that Iberico pork is known for. The lean pork adds a nice balance so it doesn’t get overly unctuous. And then there's the rabbit ear fungus. Yes, rabbit ear fungus—also known as Mu Er or Yunnan black fungus . It...

If you’re wandering through Bishan’s Junction 8 mall wondering what to eat, Seoul Noodle Shop might just catch your eye. A cozy little restaurant stall tucked in the basement, it promises authentic Korean noodles and hearty comfort food that feels straight out of a Seoul street market. We visited over the weekend for dinner and decided to go big. Two combo sets—Combo A and Combo B—meant we could try six different dishes, including their famous bibim noodles , which definitely deserved the spotlight.
