Mutton Briyani to Remember at Zam Zam, North Bridge Road

Nestled in Singapore's bustling streets, Zam Zam is a culinary landmark. It's where spices meet smiles, creating unforgettable dining tales. This place is famous for a dish that's not just food but a flavour festival on a plate.

A Culinary Quest Begins

As soon as we crossed the threshold into Zam Zam, we were embraced by a cool, air-conditioned breeze, a soothing reprieve from the relentless Singapore sun. Furthermore, the staff greeted us with open arms, their smiles as warm as the delicious meals they were about to serve.

The Main Event: Mutton Briyani

Priced at a modest $10 a plate, Zam Zam's mutton briyani is a culinary masterpiece. The basmati rice, fluffy and fragrant, serves as a luxurious bed for the star of the dish: the mutton. This mutton, tender and richly flavoured, carries a subtle gamey undertone, a gentle reminder of its exquisite origin. Indeed, the meat is so soft and succulent that it seems to dissolve in your mouth, a testament to the chef's mastery.

Covered in a sumptuous gravy, the mutton pairs divinely with the rice, creating a harmony of flavours that sings to your soul. Additionally, a side of curry gravy, thick and indulgent, accompanies the dish. Although the briyani stands out on its own, this curry adds an extra layer of decadence, enhancing the overall experience.

Why Zam Zam's Mutton Briyani is a Must-Try

Moreover, it's not just the exceptional quality of the food that sets Zam Zam apart. The restaurant itself, with its comfortable air-conditioned environment and exceptionally friendly staff, creates an atmosphere that makes every visit memorable. Considering the quality and the price, dining here feels like uncovering a hidden treasure.

Hunan Pork Belly at Xiang Xiang Hunan: Crunchy, Spicy, and Lip-Smacking Good

You know a dish is that good when you keep coming back for it. And that’s exactly what happened on our third visit to Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine 湘香湖南菜 —this time at AMK Hub. We already had high expectations from our past experiences, but once again, their Hunan pork belly blew us away. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) What Makes This Hunan Pork Belly Stand Out? First off, let’s talk about the star of the show: their Hunan stir fry pork , made with a heavenly combo of Iberico pork belly and lean pork. It’s a dish that really brings out the spirit of Hunan cooking—bold, fragrant, slightly spicy, and loaded with green pepper aromatics. The pork belly is wonderfully fatty and tender, with that unmistakable richness that Iberico pork is known for. The lean pork adds a nice balance so it doesn’t get overly unctuous. And then there's the rabbit ear fungus. Yes, rabbit ear fungus—also known as Mu Er or Yunnan black fungus . It...

Hooi Kee’s Hong Kong Style Roasted Char Siew and Roasted Chicken Rice: A Decent Meal?

Looking for what to eat in Ang Mo Kio, we got ourselves a simple order of char siew rice with roasted chicken for this round of chicken rice food review. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Char siew pieces were fatty and lean, a good ratio combination, with the fats roasted to a melt in your mouth consistency. We loved the gravy that drizzled onto the charred and caramelized parts, which elevated its taste and flavour. Coupled with the tenderlicious roasted chicken, which was soft and juicy even for their breast meat. Skin was crisp and tasted lovely with their briny sauce. Rice was fragrant and not greasy, and somewhat addictive together with the char siew gravy and chicken sauce. Chili was mundane, runny and spicy, complimenting the rice and chicken perfectly. @yumzyumzsg Hooi Kee Hong Kong Style Roasted - Roasted Chicken Rice with Char Siew Visit YumzYumz.com for their food review. #sgfood #foodlover #foodreview #f...
