Hidden in Ang Mo Kio lies a vegetarian stall that has a snaking queue every morning, except on Wednesdays when they are closed. They have one of the best zai er (vegetarian mock goose), or soya bean curd skin. Extremely crispy, with sweetness bursting in your mouth as you crunch them.
It is so popular among their faithful customers, while we were in queue, they were doing their second batch of zai ers. The wok that they fry them was huge and that speaks volume of popular it is.
They should probably get it mass produced and sell them in supermarkets. Definitely a hit with every snack lovers.
Beehoon was decent, not dry, not too soft. Mock char siew were chewy and tasty, not blend. Curry vegetables were soft and not mushy.
At $2 a plate, you get 2 nice ingredients and 1 out of the world omg good zai er.
If you love their zai er so much and had to bring home some, a pack cost $3. It is so yummy that it is worth every cent. Who knew soya bean curd skin can be so mind blowing. ^^
