Get Your Chicken Fix at Yishun 925 Chicken Rice

925 Chicken Rice in Yishun is a must-try for any food lover. With multiple branches all over Singapore, it's clear that this chicken rice stall has earned quite a reputation. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) We decided to see what all the fuss was about and headed down to the original Yishun location. The queue was long even on a weekday afternoon, but the staff were efficient and friendly, making the wait bearable. When we finally got our hands on the chicken rice, we were not disappointed. The rice was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of greasiness and a fragrant aroma that whet our appetites. It wasn't clumpy nor mushy, but rather fluffy and light, making it a joy to eat. And when we mixed the rice with the sauce used on the chicken, the flavors melded together perfectly. Speaking of the chicken, it was chunky, moist and tender. The sauce used on it was not too salty nor too sweet, but just right. W...

Uno Beef House Chicken Chop: A Finger-Lickin’ Good Time!

If you're looking for a hawker-style Western meal, Uno Beef House in Toa Payoh is definitely worth a visit. We recently tried their chicken chop, and were pleasantly surprised by its quality and taste. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) The chicken thigh was grilled to perfection, with caramelized bits that added a delicious smoky flavor. The flesh was nicely marinated, silky smooth, and incredibly juicy. But what really stole the show was the chicken skin – crispy and oh so yummilicious. The brown sauce served with the chicken chop was a great accompaniment, adding a briny and savory taste to the dish. We also appreciated the variety of sides that came with the meal – the crinkle fries were nicely seasoned, the coleslaw was fresh and crunchy, and the baked beans added a nice touch of sweetness. What impressed us the most was the portion size – the serving was more than enough to fill us up, and all for just $8. We left fee...

Popular western food stall at Toa Payoh nestled among HDB blocks and beside CHIJ Secondary School, we visited Uno Beef House for their hotplate beef steak for this food review. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Served on a sizzling hotplate, Uno Beef House served up our order within 8 minutes even with a full house lunch crowd. Most of the patrons in the coffee shop that they reside in were there for Uno Beef House. And majority of them were having what we ordered : Black Pepper Sirloin Steak. @yumzyumzsg Uno Beef House - Black Pepper Sirloin Steak #sgfoodie #foodlover #foodstagram #foodblogger #foodreview #foodporn #foodies #foodiessg #beefsteak #hawkerfood #sghawker ♬ Food Hunter - FASSounds Topped with softened onion bits and greasy black pepper sauce, their beef steak was beautifully caramalized. With charred bits on the sides for the extra smoky flavour. Ordered at medium rare, it was amazingly tender ...

Sizzling Teppanyaki Delight – PokeQpan Bento at One Punggol Hawker Centre

Fancying some teppanyaki action, we noticed One Punggol hawker centre has a PokeQPan teppanyaki stall. We tried out their pork selection and this is what we got for their food review. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Served on a hot sizzling pan that they preheat over a blazing stove. Pre-grilled pork slices were placed on, along with some pre-blanched beansprouts and cabbage. Finally, a generous splash of their unique thick gravy. However, as the gravy hit the red hot iron plate, gravy was splashing in every direction. As we were seat quite a distance from the stall, the journey wasn't a pleasant one as splashes hit nearby diners. We tried our best to take a longer route and avoid further problems. Nevertheless, lets touch on the food. Pork slices were tender and caramalized from the hot pan. Most of the flavour we got was from the rich and tasty gravy. It blended nicely with the smokey pork slices and the swee...

Get Your Wing Fix at Eng Kee’s Punggol Branch – Crispy and Flavorful Chicken Wings

Thinking of what to eat at One Punggol? One Punggol opened its doors on 31st October, with plenty of food choices on the 2nd floor hawker centre. Airy and spacious with plenty of seats, we chose to go with Eng Kee Chicken Wings for this food review. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Popular fried chicken wings at One Punggol, we noticed that customers were ordering Eng Kee's fried chicken wings in dozens. They do sell noodles and beehoon, with the usual economic beehoon style ingredients for add-ons. But their star attraction was their crispy and aromatic fried chicken wings. The skin had a rich and intense flavour, deeply marinated into every crevices. Greasiness is a must for fried chicken wings, yet not giving the jelat feeling. Flesh was rather tender and juicy. But the attraction definitely lays in its beautiful crisp chicken skin. Not the KFC finger licking good spice type, but intense and mellow accentuati...

Savor the Flavor of Roast Paradise’s Char Siew and Roast Pork Rice

Recommended to us for their audaciously famous tasty char siew, we visited Roast Paradise at Old Airport Road hawker for this roasted pork and char siew rice food review. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Char siew were thick and totally lean meat. We were expecting some form of fatty greasy action going on, but it was not to be. Instead, they were thick and chunky, tender and lean char siew. Its exterior were savoury and well caramelized. Not exactly the melt in your mouth type but definitely tender. On the other had, their roast pork were more intriguing and exciting than their char siew counterpart. Roast pork skin were crunchy and briny, with a well balanced fat to meat ratio in the middle. Not too greasy with a well balanced delectable porky satisfaction. Coupled with the protein chunks was a saucer of sticky sweet sauce that elevated the char siew and roast pork flavour. Rice was bursting with fragrance and grainy, n...
