Spice Up Your Day with Spize Rifle Range’s Delicious Seafood Cappellini

Nestled deep within the quiet neighbourhood in Bukit Timah is a particularly popular Spize joint in Temasek Club. Definitely a place for special occasions with their cozy and beautiful locale and scenary. We got one of their recommended dish, Cappellini ai Fruittti di Mare, or seafood cappellini for this pasta food review. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Cappellini ai Fruittti di Mare, or seafood cappellini, made up with a spectrum of gorgeous ingredients. But first off, the difference between capellini and angel hair is the difference of their width. Capellini's diameter is around 0.85 and 0.92 millimeters, while angel hair measures between 0.78 and 0.88 millimeters. So it was slightly thicker, with more bite than angel hair. Infused with a thick and well seasoned tomato sauce that had the aroma of basil, fresh and tasty seafood were scattered all around it. @yumzyumzsg Seafood Cappellini at Spize Rifle Range. Read...

The chicken flesh is soft and tender, while the skin is gooey and jelly-like. Boon Tong Kee's rice is always fluffy and bursting with flavor, slightly seasoned and a perfect complement to the dark soy sauce. The chili sauce is thick and spicy, with a slight tang that goes marvelously with the juicy and tender chicken. Dans Steaks’ Wagyu Steak: A Decent Dish or Overhyped?

Looking for a delicious and juicy steak, we visited Dan's Steaks in Serangoon Gardens for their Wagyu Steak. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Austige Wagyu Hanging Tender The most expensive item on the menu was the Austige Wagyu Hanging Tender, weighing 230g. It was beautifully plated and served lukewarm, with a gorgeously charred and caramelized crust. However, the seasoning was bland, lacking the basic salt and pepper that could have enhanced its flavor. The interior lacked marbling and was tough to chew. Despite its huge portion, the flavor left much to be desired. Perhaps, the sauces on the sides and bottom were intended to compensate for the lack of flavor. Their housemade chimichurri was silky and infused with rich herbs, making it the perfect accompaniment to the grilled meat. Dan's special mustard had a tangy and pungent taste, providing the Wagyu with additional flavor. At the bottom of the Wagyu slab was a s...

Delectable Hainan Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee 海南福建炒虾麵 at Golden Mile Food Centre

Wondering what to eat at Golden Mile Food Centre, or army market hawker? We tried out the popular fried hokkien noodles at army market for this hokkien mee food review. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Noodles were squishy and soft, yet still retaining some bite to it. Eggs were beautifully fried with the aromatically broth infused noodles. Wok hey was distinctly present and perfumed. Thrown into the mixed were a couple of squid bits that were slightly tough. Pork bits were scattered around which were chewy and providing the needed extra variant texture. 2 prawns were given which were crunchy and tasty. Worth noting was their chili paste or sauce that was thick and dynamic, quite different from the usual chili sauce you get else where. It had a strong and distinct dried shrimp flavour, which tiny bits for the extra texture. Coupled with the chopped chili padi, the whole hokkien mee was exquisite and lovely. In terms of po...

In this kway chap food review, we share our experience of trying this hearty and delectable hawker delicacy. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Despite the long wait of around 20 minutes during a weekend lunch crowd, the kway chap from To-Ricos was definitely worth it. The lean pork meat was tender and absorbed all the pork broth goodness. The pork belly chunks were exceptionally satisfying, with melt-in-your-mouth fat and chewy skin that were briny and delectable. The pig stomach, large intestine, and pork bung were all soft and chewy with no odor, and showcased the laborious cleaning and cooking process put into these porky goodness parts. The tau kwa and tau pok were also deliciously made, adding to the great experience of the whole platter for one, c...

Hooi Kee’s Hong Kong Style Roasted Char Siew and Roasted Chicken Rice: A Decent Meal?

Looking for what to eat in Ang Mo Kio, we got ourselves a simple order of char siew rice with roasted chicken for this round of chicken rice food review. View this post on Instagram A post shared by YumzYumz.com (@yumzyumzsg) Char siew pieces were fatty and lean, a good ratio combination, with the fats roasted to a melt in your mouth consistency. We loved the gravy that drizzled onto the charred and caramelized parts, which elevated its taste and flavour. Coupled with the tenderlicious roasted chicken, which was soft and juicy even for their breast meat. Skin was crisp and tasted lovely with their briny sauce. Rice was fragrant and not greasy, and somewhat addictive together with the char siew gravy and chicken sauce. Chili was mundane, runny and spicy, complimenting the rice and chicken perfectly. @yumzyumzsg Hooi Kee Hong Kong Style Roasted - Roasted Chicken Rice with Char Siew Visit YumzYumz.com for their food review. #sgfood #foodlover #foodreview #f...

Here are our 2022 top 10 wanton mee in Singapore that we feel is worthy of ranking. We always believe in 3 aspects of any food : quality, quantity and attitude. It may not be in line with how some people ranks or feels about food, but that is our approach. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it definitely gives an indication of YumzYumz sentiments. Ang Mo Kio 453 Wanton Noodle Ang Mo Kio 453 Wanton Noodle Coming in on our 1st spot is Ang Mo Kio 453 wanton noodles! First off, their charsiew were chunky, amazingly tender, well caramelized, savoury and sweet. Noodles were well blanched, and held well to their awesome sauce mix. Definitely a healthy dose of lard oil for the extra fragrance, and an array of other sauces that weren’t overtly added that obscures the senses. And the mixed in chili ain’t too spicy. There was a sprinkle of tiny chunks of crunchy, cripsy fried pork lard for the extra texture and flavour. So delicious! 3 wantons were given, and they were plu...
